Snack Drive

With breakfast no longer being free for all students, we have had a big drop in the number of students who are eating breakfast. The downfall of that is that we used to be able to get quite a few things from breakfast in the ‘Share Bin’ and that became a place students could get a snack later in the day, if they didn’t have a snack from home. The PTO would encourage families to send snacks or even order from Amazon and to be delivered to school. We limited it to – Snyder Pretzel, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers, that way we have a ‘school snack’ to share with those who needed it.

Youth Pride Parade and Festival

The Whatcom Youth Pride Coalition proudly presents the 2023 Youth PRIDE Parade and Festival on June 3, 2023 - an opportunity for LGBTQIA+ youth and youth allies to walk together through a short parade route while the community stands along the sidelines and cheers them on!  The parade culminates in a festival at Bellingham High School where there will be tables for community organizations to share their resources, music and performances, and food trucks for lunch!

With and estimated 1,500+ people in attendance in our 2019 inaugural year, and again in 2022; the Whatcom Youth Pride Parade and Festival continues to be huge success! We've relished the opportunity to gather in person and we're looking forward to gathering again this year!  Come join us!

10:15 AM - Meet on the corner of Cornwall and Halleck wearing your most colorful Parkview shirt to march with your friends and allies. We will have a sign marking our group. We will have glitter, rainbow face paint and rainbow wands for those who wish to get snazzy.

Science on Wheels with Pacific Science Center: Blood and Guts

The Pacific Science center will visit Parkview during the school day for a live science show for the entire school, 40-minute programs for individual classrooms, and a pop-up exhibit experience that brings the hands-on learning of the Science Center to your students.

Whole-School Assembly: Physiology is fascinating! Delve into the human body: examine the skeletal system, plot the path of a red blood cell through the circulatory system, and mull over how messages travel through the nervous system.

Interactive Pop-Up Exhibits: Circulate among exhibits that cover an amazing body of knowledge: biology! How steady is your balance? Where is your ulna? Assemble skeletons, analyze x-rays, and scrutinize skulls. Tease your mind with optical illusions and then look inside a real human brain! This exhibit includes real organs from both humans and animals.

Classroom Programs:

  • Grades K-2: Creature Features, You’ve Got Nerve

  • Grades 3-8: Piece of Mind, Visual Eyes
