Back to School Popsicle Social (FALL)

Hang out with other Parkview families and enjoy a sweet treat! This event is held the same day as the All School Playdate held in August. This is a free event.

MOVE-A-THON!

This is our largest fundraiser of our year, but it is also a super fun event! This is a free school day event that us held in the Fall. Parents and caregivers are welcome to volunteer and attend.

Night Out at Village Books

Support a local business and the PTO at the same time! Enjoy a family friendly night out at Village Books - a portion of your purchases will be donated to the PTO to support the Parkview library. Student’s are invited to enjoy stories read by some of their favorite Parkview staff and teachers. This is a free evening event.

Movie Night (FALL)

Cozy up in the Parkview Auditorium to watch a movie with your Parkview community! Popcorn is served. This is a free evening event and is typically held in December ahead of Winter Break.

Parkview Cares THANKSGIVING FOOD BOX DELIVERY (FALL) | Parkview Cares

Each year, the PTO partners with the Lettered Streets Covenant Church to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need. The PTO coordinates turkey donations and helps deliver boxes to families.

Parkview Cares WINTER WISHES (FALL) | Parkview Cares

Each year, the PTO coordinates a Winter Wishes drive to collect gift cards to benefit families in need of assistance over the holidays. The PTO also collects wrapping paper, bows, hot chocolate and other treats to distribute to families.

Winter Carnival (WINTER)

One of our most popular events of the year! Join us for carnival games, a box maze, prizes, pizza and more! This is a FREE event that is typically held on a Thursday late afternoon/evening in late January.

SCIENCE ON WHEELS ASSEMBLY(WINTER) | Science on Wheels

Each year, the PTO brings the Pacific Science Center to Parkview with Science On Wheels! Science On Wheels ignites curiosity in every child and fuels a passion for discovery, experimentation and critical thinking in students of all ages through engaging science shows, portable exhibit sets and interactive workshops.

Science Fair (WINTER)

Each year, the PTO hosts a Science Fair to encourage students to investigate a science or engineering topic and share discoveries with each other. This event is typically held at the end of February.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR (sPRING)

Shop for books and other goodies and support the library! The PTO hosts a Scholastic Book Fair each year, with proceeds benefiting the Parkview Library.

TEACHER APPRECIATION (MONTHLY + WEEK IN MAY) | Teacher “Favorites” Guides

Each month, the PTO coordinates potlucks and small gifts to honor our Parkview staff and teachers. A larger, week long celebration of our teachers and staff, typically held in early May.

Allied Arts Children’s Art Walk (SPRING) | Allied Arts Children's Art Walk

The Parkview PTO participates in this event hosted by Allied Arts of Whatcom County celebrating the end of the school year and the arts activities taking place in local schools.

Junior Ski to Sea Parade (SPRING)

The Parkview PTO organizes a group of students and caregivers to participate in Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce & City of Bellingham’s Junior Ski to Sea Parade. This parade runs along Cornwall Avenue and has the cutest children, floats, pets and a variety of other sights you don’t want to miss! Junior Ski to Sea Race teams are encouraged to participate.

5th Grade Commencement Celebration (SPRING)

The PTO helps support a special Commencement Celebration for our 5th Grade Students and their families. This event is traditionally organized by a committee of 5th Grade parents and caregivers.

End of Year BBQ (SPRING)

Celebrate the end of the school year with hamburgers and hotdogs outside at Parkview. This is a free event and is typically held the first Thursday in June.

PTO-LED Enrichment Programs

After School Enrichment (Fall, Winter and Spring)

The PTO coordinates a number of after school classes and programs with the goal of enhancing student skills, knowledge and well-being after the school day ends. Classes are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring. The Enrichment Coordinator works hard to provide a balanced list of offerings suitable for students at many different grade levels.

Science on Wheels Assembly (january) | Science on Wheels

Whole Child Grade Level Field Trips

The largest portion of the PTO budget helps to sponsor a grade-level field trip to help extend learning beyond the classroom. Field trips are planned by teachers and may vary from year to year.

MOUNT BAKER THEATER | Wade Bennett King Education Series

The PTO also budgets for students in each grade to attend a program at Mount Baker Theater. Mount Baker Theater experiences are planned by teachers.
